This project seeks to develop a pilot study to identify and evaluate the impact of publicly funded construction projects on reaching the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through mapping, tracing, and exploring strategies to inform best practice, the project aims to understand the knowledge acquisition and open transferability of sustainable goals in these projects.
With the project a pilot will be developed with the support of the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences/Powerhouse Museum in Parramatta, in order to gain a better understanding of how to effectively capture, share and improve the public benefits generated by investment in innovation associated with these projects. Ultimately, the project seeks to create policies, platforms and practice-based methodology that will support open access to data about sustainable practice, materials and components developed and tested in public buildings.
